ROMAN GLASS

This glittering glass comes from parts of ancient blown glass
from the Roman Byzantine empire.
It was excavated from archeological sites in the Holy Land.
The spectrum of colors which appears on the glass was
formed over handreds of years.
These special colors are the result of the combined effects
of climatic conditions and the surrounding earth in which the
glass was embedded.
Over the generations, layer upon layer of earth covered the
glass, giving it it's unique color of "patina".
